We would like to invite everyone to the first Fall Quarter meeting of Bruin Linguists (aka BLing!) For those of you who don’t know us, The Society of Bruin Linguists is a group formed with the intent of providing members with the opportunity to meet and socialize with other ling students, to hear about the research of professors in UCLA’s own department and beyond, and to keep up to date on research opportunities and resources in the department. If you are new to UCLA, BLing is a great way to meet new people!
We are excited to announce Robyn Orfitelli as our guest speaker. For those who don’t know her, Robyn is a graduate student in our Linguistics department. She has TA’d and taught many Ling classes, and her research interests include child language acquisition. Robyn will be talking to us about “Linguistics: what is it, and why is it exciting?” so we strongly encourage all students, old and new to attend!
When: Wednesday, October 6th, 6-8pm
Where: Campbell Hall 2122 (Second floor conference room)
What to expect: An exciting talk by Robyn, a chance to meet new people, and Ling Taboo!
Refreshments will be served!
