Our Speaker: Bruce Hayes
The Topic: “Natural and Unnatural Constraints in Hungarian Vowel Harmony”

Bruce Hayes has been a professor of phonology at UCLA for over 20 years. His current research uses the three methods of traditional data analysis, experimentation, and modeling with machine-implemented algorithms to describe various phenomena. He teaches Ling 20, Ling 120A, 103, and 191 (Metrics), as well as several graduate courses.
